Parent/Teacher Conference Day - October 26th

posted Oct 9, 2015, 12:38 PM by Amanda Yearwood

The Cullman County Commission on Education has scheduled a Parent/Teacher Conference Day on Monday, October 26th.  On this day, teachers will be available to meet with you to discuss your child’s academic progress, strengths and weaknesses, and answer any questions you may have.

Each year at WPHS we have a special parent meeting for our senior class and for incoming freshmen.  These meetings have been very successful.  We will have similar meetings in combination with our already scheduled Parent/Teacher Conference Day to make it an even more useful event.  You are not required to attend the meetings or come at these times, but we feel that it would be beneficial to you.  Please see the details below for your child’s grade level meeting:

9th Grade Parent Meeting – 5:00 PM in the Auditorium

·         Topics:  Grades and GPA, Tutoring, Attendance, Diploma Requirements, Advanced Placement Courses, College Planning, and Community Service

·         Parents may also set up individual appointments anytime from 12:00-7:00 to conference with a teacher(s) using the online request form linked below or by phone to the high school office.  Scheduled appointments will be fulfilled before walk-ins.

10th and 11th Grade Parent Meeting – 6:00 PM in the Auditorium

·         Topics:  Grades and GPA, Attendance, College Preparation, Aspire and ACT Testing, Advanced Placement Courses, Dual Enrollment, Career Planning, and Community Service.

·         Parents may also set up individual appointments anytime from 12:00-7:00 to conference with a teacher(s) using the online request form linked below or by phone to the high school office.  Scheduled appointments will be fulfilled before walk-ins.

12th Grade – Group Meeting Already Held in September

·         Parents may set up individual appointments anytime from 12:00-7:00 to conference with a teacher(s) using the online request form linked below or by phone to the high school office.  Scheduled appointments will be fulfilled before walk-ins.

Hopefully, when these meetings and conferences are over, you will have a better understanding of all aspects of your child’s school requirements and of what steps are next in working toward his/her high school diploma and further study at the post-secondary level.  We look forward to seeing you.
