REPORT CARDS

Report Cards will be given to all students on Thursday, October 18th.  We are very pleased with the number of students who earned all As, those listed on the WPH Honors List, and those who earned all As and Bs.  Congratulations!

PARENT/TEACHER CONFERENCES

The Cullman County Commission on Education has schedule a Parent/Teacher Conference Day on Monday, October 22nd.  On this day, teachers will be available to meet with you to discuss your child’s academic progress, strengths and weaknesses, and answer any questions you may have.

Each year at WPH we have a special parent meeting for our senior class and for incoming freshmen.  These meetings have been so successful that we would like to have similar meetings with all grade levels.  This year we are going to try to combine these meetings with the Parent/Teacher Conference Day to make it an even more useful event.  You are not required to attend the meetings or come at these times, but we feel that it would be beneficial to you.  Please see the details below for your child’s grade level meeting:

·         9th Grade Parent Meeting – 2:00 PM in the Lunchroom

o   Topics:  Grades and GPA, Tutoring, Attendance, College Planning, End-of-Course Testing, and Community Service

o   Immediately following, parents will be dismissed to conference with individual teachers.

·         10th and 11th Grade Parent Meeting – 5:00 PM in the Lunchroom

o   Topics:  Grades and GPA, Attendance, End-of-Course/AHSGE Testing, College Preparation, ACT Testing, Career Planning, and Community Service.

o   Immediately following, parents will be dismissed to conference with individual teachers.

·         12th Grade – Group Meeting Already Held

o   Parents may conference with teachers individually.

Hopefully, when these meetings and conferences are over, you will have a better understanding of all aspects of your child’s school requirements and of what steps are next in working toward his/her high school diploma and further study at the post-secondary level.  We look forward to seeing you.
