Tornadoes Strike Cullman County

posted May 2, 2011, 2:23 PM by dwaddell@ccboe.org
We at West Point High School want to take this opportunity to express our condolences for anyone who lost family or friends in the tornadoes on April 27.  We would also like to extend help to any of you who lost homes or property.  Superintendent Billy Coleman has expressed his willingness to help as well, so if you or anyone you know needs help through this trying time, please feel free to contact the Cullman County Board of Education at 256-734-2933.

Many of you know that Cullman County schools suffered greatly in the storms and their aftermath.  Several county schools were damaged, Hanceville receiving the worst of that.  With the power, phone, and cable outages, it has not been feasible to resume school.  As of now, schools in Cullman County will be closed until further notice.  As soon as we know otherwise, we will try to let you know.  Keep checking here for the latest updates.
