Philosophy and Goals

The West Point High School Library Media Center will function as an integral component of the school program.  The focus of the media center is on improving the learning process by providing resources in a variety of media formats that enrich and enhance the curriculum.  The library media center strives to extend the boundaries of classroom instruction in all areas of knowledge and in all forms of creative expression.  Students will effectively access, analyze, assimilate, and present information, thereby becoming independent learners.  The goal of the West Point High School Library Media Center is to be an integral part of the educational process by equipping students with the skills and information they need to be college and career ready and to become lifelong learners.
