we would like to invite you to come see our theatre production of Bright Star this Thursday-Sunday. Tickets are available at the door ($10 general, $5 WPH students) or online via this link: https://our.show/wphbrightstar Recommended for ages 12 and up. About the show: Welcome, everyone, to the musical production of Bright Star. Over the next two hours we hope to take you back to the 1920’s and the 1940’s and tell you a true story of teenage love, rash decisions made by parents, and eventually God’s will winning out over decisions made by man. This story tells a tale of redemption and how a mother’s love, no matter the expanse of time, will never fade and only grow stronger for her children. In this story we will meet some small town characters that are present even in the times we live in today, especially if we know where to look. This musical will give us a comedic look at some stereotypes (especially writers) and how each town member plays his or her own role in the community. Bright Star is a musical drama that will take us from the hills of Appalachia to the offices of Ashville, to the local watering hole, and eventually to the small farm where our main characters’ lives were forever changed not once, but twice. We hope you enjoy this journey told through the style of bluegrass music, and we hope you realize that no matter what is going on in the world, “The sun is gonna shine again.” Our students have put in numerous hours of hard work to prepare for this production, and they will make you proud! Enjoy the show! Kim and Jimmy Harbison
